Please pray for us:

  • We have seen the evidence of the power of prayer - which is really the power of the living God, not our power. Prayer just connects us with what God is doing, and shapes us to have eyes and hearts open to see what he is doing. So I ask you to continue to join members of our local community in prayer.

  • As I've been praying for God's church and this local expression of it, I have a sense that God is inviting us to pray for specific characteristics that God wants our new church to have. Would you pray specifically for the following things?

  • God is the one who provides growth (1 Corinthians 3:6-7). Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. As we seek to plant a healthy, mission shaped, multiplying church, we participate with God in what he is doing. Pray that God would grow this local expression of his church, for his own glory and for the coming of the Kingdom of God.

  • Pray that God would give each of those who attend worship, or who are involved with our church, a hunger for the Word of God, and that the Spirit would nourish that through our worship services, and through individual and group engagement with the Word.

  • Pray for a willingness for our people to share the gospel in natural ways, to pray for people, and to invite them to walk with Jesus.

  • Pray that God would add to our number daily those who are being saved.

  • Pray that we would be a generous church, that people would give generously and sacrificially in financial and other ways.

  • Pray that we would connect with new people.

  • Ask God to raise up missional communities and that we would have a specific focus in serving the community together.

  • Ask our Lord Jesus to form faithful disciples who commit to being a part of God's vision for this city and this shire.

  • Pray that our cross cultural ministry would be gracious and fruitful.

  • Jesus is the head of the church, and he is the one who provides gifts of people to do the work of ministry. Pray for a multiplication of leadership and servanthood; pray for a multiplication of ministry and good administration. Ask God to give clarity to the leadership development pathways in our church, and for him to bring people forward with the right gifts to serve the church as he wants to shape it.

  • Would you please pray specifically for the provision of musicians and teams who can help lead our worship; for leaders to arise for the small discipleship groups that will be formed; for people to volunteer for hospitality and children's ministry? Would you also ask our loving Father to put prayer on the hearts of our people, and for the formation of a prayer group?

  • Please keep fasting and praying for protection and for Jesus' victory to be shown forth in spiritual warfare. Stepping into this new time for our church means that we are also aware of the battle - not against flesh and blood, but against the powers and principalities. Pray that God's purposes for our school and our church would be shown and that the victory of Jesus would be proclaimed. Pray for protection for Pastor Nathan, Yvette, Bethany, Rebecca and Sylvia, and for other leaders in the church and their families.

  • Pray that God would bless Lakeside College with enrolments of students and families who are open to God's work among them through the ministry of the church and College.

  • If you are unfamiliar with fasting and its place in the Christian life, you may like to read this outline of a sermon that was recently preached at our church. Or you can listen to the sermon on podcast.

  • Pray that God would send people to partner with us locally in church planting and evangelism.
