Please pray for us:
Pray for our whole church, the LCA, as it approaches the 2018 General Convention of Synod in the first week of October. Pray for God's will to be done, and his kingdom to come through this part of his church, the LCA. Pray for delegates to have wisdom and humility to listen to the Holy Spirit, Scripture and one another on a number of important issues, including the question of whether women can be ordained to the office of the ministry. Also pray for the presentations from our Committee for New and Renewing Churches. Fast and pray that God would increase our vision for mission and evangelism, our church planting vision and capacity.
Please be in prayer for our local church as we approach the launch of a weekly Sunday morning service.
Pray for God to bring growth to Pakenham Lakeside Church for HIS glory and the coming of his kingdom. We have seen that prayer being answered in remarkable ways. In the past five weeks or so, four or five new couples or families have just 'showed up.' Fast and pray with us. God is the one who provides growth (1 Corinthians 3:6-7). Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. As we seek to plant a healthy, mission shaped, multiplying church, we participate with God in what he is doing.
Pray that God's purposes for our school and our church would be shown and that the victory of Jesus would be proclaimed. Pray for protection for Pastor Nathan, Yvette, Bethany, Rebecca and Sylvia, and for other leaders in the church and their families.
Pray that God would send people to partner with us locally in church planting and evangelism.
Pray for the church's family camp coming up in October, that it may be a wonderful time of connection for families in our church, that we may welcome newcomers, and that everyone would feel included.
Praise God for the answers to prayer we continue to see - as mentioned above, that God is bringing new people into contact with our church.
Praise God for four years of faithfulness to our family in the Pakenham context. There have been some very difficult times but through all of them, we have known that we are walking with the risen Jesus. He is right there beside us even when we don't know or recognise his presence.
Thank God for the provision of some partner churches, and pray for more partnerships to emerge!
Pray for the work of the Holy Spirit in the lives of God's people (including you!) May we be filled with the joy of the gospel and be bold and wise in sharing it in the power of the Spirit.
